Positive/Negative Still Life

I took pictures in class so that I could continue on and finish outlining still life in case I don't finish on time.

However, I finished and could start filling out the blank space (negative) with lines.

First, I used a grid to find a composition and a layout. Then, I took a picture of it-(I cannot hold the grid while I am drawing). I also captured the positions and looks of still life in my mind and drew.

In order to draw negative (background), I also had to draw positive shapes. After I got all the lines and details of still life, I erased lines of positive.

The picture above is not done yet. I did not know what to fill in the space. I wanted to go with nature-Roots, Trunks, and twigs with sky.

The very right side does not look like roots, but I wanted to make a root-like pattern, which needs many 3D lines.

Here is my completed drawing!
